Welcome to Longrifle Shooting Bags.
I am a native of Northern Virginia and my ancestry is directly connected to Lehigh Valley and Northampton County, Pennsylvania since 1760.
I have been a serious student and collector of American Longrifles for over 35 years. I have also grown to appreciate the various accoutrements that are necessary to support the operation of the rifle, such as the powder horn and shooting bag that contained the gunpowder, patch, ball and necessary tools.
Having a strong interest in the accoutrements inspired me to create early U.S. Eastern style longrifle shooting bags that replicate traditional patterns and display period details. I use only quality leather products and a few early hand tools combined with traditional methods for leather harness stitching to complete each bag.
My shooting bags are carefully harness stitched and then hand finished, either as new or antiqued, to appear slightly used or aged. I hand finish and rub all bags with the use of only traditional and proven dyes, oils and finishing waxes which do not damage the leather product.
The Gallery contains some available examples of traditional “D” shaped bags, beavertail, kidney designs and plain southern mountain style bags. I also craft leather & canvas and occasionally offer harness stitched canvas shooting bags.
I invite you to tour the Gallery of shooting bags and the page of Firearms & Accoutrements.
Please contact me by telephone or email if I can help you further.
